Storage & Millwork

Built-Ins & Wall Units
Furniture that belongs to the house.

Media walls, bookcases, window seats, and stair millwork that read as part of the architecture.

A good built-in does not look installed. It looks like the house came that way — scribed tight to the walls, aligned to the window trim, with reveals that match the existing millwork and a finish that reads as original.

The technical work is in the scribing and the electronics. Media walls need ventilation, cable management, and access to equipment you will replace in five years without dismantling the cabinetry.

How it goes

From the first visit to the punch list.

Seven steps, in order, every time. You always know which one you are in.

Step 01

The first visit

Vincent comes out, measures the room, and looks at what you already have. If your boxes are worth keeping he will tell you so, even though refacing is the smaller job. You get a straight read on what the space can do.

Step 02

Design and drawings

We draw the room in 3D — elevations you can actually read, not a rendering with fake pendant lights. You see cabinet heights, drawer configurations, and where every filler lands before anything is ordered.

Step 03

Materials in your light

Door samples, finish samples, and hardware come to your house. Showroom lighting lies. A white that looks warm in the showroom can read grey under your north-facing window, and you should find that out now.

Step 04

A real calendar

At contract you get dates, not a range — order date, expected delivery, install week, template day, countertop install. If a supplier slips, you hear it from us in writing the day we hear it.

Questions

Built-Ins & Wall Units — the questions we get most.

Can you match my existing trim and crown?
In most cases yes. Older South Florida homes often use profiles that are no longer stocked, so we take a sample, have a knife ground to match if needed, and run it. It adds a little lead time and it is the difference between a built-in and an addition.
How do you handle the TV and equipment?
We build a ventilated bay with rear access, run conduit for future cable, and size the opening to the TV you have plus room for the one you will buy next. Equipment that needs line of sight for a remote gets a solution that is not a smoked glass door people fight with.
Will shelves sag?
Not if they are sized right. Shelf sag is a function of span, thickness, and load. We limit unsupported spans, thicken shelves carrying books, and use hardwood edge banding that stiffens the front edge considerably.
