Storage & Millwork

Home Office Millwork
Built for the job you actually do at that desk.

Desks, credenzas, file storage, and library walls built for people who actually work from home.

The home office stopped being a hobby room. It is now where people take calls all day, and the millwork should reflect that — a desk at the right height and depth, monitors at the right distance, files within reach, and cable management that actually hides cables instead of gathering them into a visible bundle.

The other consideration is what is behind you on video. A well-designed library wall or credenza is the most-seen piece of furniture many people own now.

How it goes

From the first visit to the punch list.

Seven steps, in order, every time. You always know which one you are in.

Step 01

The first visit

Vincent comes out, measures the room, and looks at what you already have. If your boxes are worth keeping he will tell you so, even though refacing is the smaller job. You get a straight read on what the space can do.

Step 02

Design and drawings

We draw the room in 3D — elevations you can actually read, not a rendering with fake pendant lights. You see cabinet heights, drawer configurations, and where every filler lands before anything is ordered.

Step 03

Materials in your light

Door samples, finish samples, and hardware come to your house. Showroom lighting lies. A white that looks warm in the showroom can read grey under your north-facing window, and you should find that out now.

Step 04

A real calendar

At contract you get dates, not a range — order date, expected delivery, install week, template day, countertop install. If a supplier slips, you hear it from us in writing the day we hear it.

Questions

Home Office Millwork — the questions we get most.

What desk depth do I need for two monitors?
Thirty inches is comfortable for dual monitors on arms; twenty-four gets tight and pushes you closer than you want to sit. If the monitors are on stands rather than arms, add a few inches. We mock the depth with a temporary surface before we build if you are unsure.
Can you build in a sit-stand desk?
Yes. The mechanism has to be planned from the drawing stage because the surface has to move independently of the surrounding millwork, with a clear travel path and cables on a service loop. Retrofitting a sit-stand into a fixed built-in generally is not possible.
How do you hide the cables?
Grommets at the surface, a raceway down the back of the desk, a power strip mounted inside the cabinetry, and a single cable leaving the piece. The goal is that when you look under the desk you see a leg and a floor.

Vincent does the first visit himself. He measures, he looks at what you already have, and he tells you straight what the room can do — including when the answer is less work than you expected. No charge for that visit.
