Rooms

Laundry, Mudroom & Garage
The rooms that decide whether the rest of the house stays clean.

The rooms that absorb the mess. Folding counters, drop zones, and garage storage that gets things off the floor.

These rooms get designed last and used constantly. A laundry room with a folding counter over the machines and a hanging rod above it changes the whole chore. A mudroom drop zone with a bench, hooks at kid height, and a cubby per person is the difference between a clean entry and a pile.

Garages in South Florida have their own rule: nothing porous touches the floor. Humidity, occasional water intrusion, and the odd storm event mean base cabinets should be elevated or wall-hung, and particleboard has no business out there.

How it goes

From the first visit to the punch list.

Seven steps, in order, every time. You always know which one you are in.

Step 01

The first visit

Vincent comes out, measures the room, and looks at what you already have. If your boxes are worth keeping he will tell you so, even though refacing is the smaller job. You get a straight read on what the space can do.

Step 02

Design and drawings

We draw the room in 3D — elevations you can actually read, not a rendering with fake pendant lights. You see cabinet heights, drawer configurations, and where every filler lands before anything is ordered.

Step 03

Materials in your light

Door samples, finish samples, and hardware come to your house. Showroom lighting lies. A white that looks warm in the showroom can read grey under your north-facing window, and you should find that out now.

Step 04

A real calendar

At contract you get dates, not a range — order date, expected delivery, install week, template day, countertop install. If a supplier slips, you hear it from us in writing the day we hear it.

Questions

Laundry, Mudroom & Garage — the questions we get most.

Can I get a folding counter with top-load machines?
Not over them, but there are good alternatives — a counter on the adjacent run, or a pull-out shelf below. If you are open to switching to front-load at some point, we can build now for the counter and leave the machines where they are until you replace them.
Should garage cabinets sit on the floor?
We recommend against it here. Wall-hung or leg-elevated keeps everything above any water that ever comes in, and it makes the floor far easier to clean. If you want base cabinets, we spec a sealed material and set them on adjustable legs.
How much mudroom do I need for a family of four?
Plan on roughly eighteen inches of width per person for cubbies, a bench deep enough to actually sit on at fifteen to eighteen inches, and hooks at two heights so kids can reach their own. Closed shoe storage matters more than people expect.
